Hi Eagles members,

I hope this letter finds everyone happy and healthy. We had a sad day at our club on January 3, 2012. As most of you know our past President and current Vice-President, Benny Meir passed away. We had a funeral Luncheon for him at the club. There were a quite a few of his family members present as well as Eagles members. I want to thank those that made it a special day for his family. There was Diane Keen, Connie Puff, Jerry Wojtlko, Janene Skiba, Dawn Williams, and all the members that brought food in, and of course the Women’s Auxiliary. This is a “Thank You from Dawn Williams”, and I would also like to add my thanks also. “ On January 9th 2012, several members and Auxiliary turned out to clean and scrub the kitchen. Those members were Brenda Mlasko, Amanda Farley, Glen Johnson, Don Bookie, Al Johnson, Gerry Wojtylko, and Dawn Williams.” I would also like to thank Dawn for taking down the Christmas Decorations and scrubbing the back room floor in time for the luncheon for Benny Meir. There will be a second cleaning in a few days to finish that project

 We had several new members join our club in the past couple of weeks. Thanks to the diligent help from some of our members in passing out applications for membership. The new members were, Jeff Allen, Guy Cleveland, Jeremy Illig, Craig Van Wormer, John Blanchard, Carl Daniels, Richard Williams, and two milestone members, my wife, Bonnie Lauria, and Diane Keen. I welcome you all to West Branch Eagles Club. When you see them in our club, please make them feel welcome. Thank you.

Some of you already know that we lost our Keno business. This was due to the fact that we didn’t do enough business on to make the State Lottery Commission happy. We still have our ticket(pull tabs) machines, and the two new electronic machines. We have free pool on Fridays and Sundays. We have euchre on Wednesdays. I believe it starts at 6:30 P.M.

We now have a West Branch Eagles pool league, made up of two, six person teams. We have Eagle 1 and Eagle 2. For the time being they will be in house teams. As it progresses, we may be a traveling league. Jeff Mlasko is the team captain. His phone number is: 1-989-701-2171. Or you may call the club and leave your name and phone number for him. ( 345-2990) If you are interested in playing , please do call or just come in on Thursdays at 2 P.M.. Please do not let your ability or the lack there of cause you to not want to play. Everyone is welcome. Men and women are playing in these teams. We have Euchre on Wed. and food is available, Dawn has something different every Wed.

Happy hours are as follows: Mon. 4-7, Tues. 1-4, Wed. and Thurs. 2-7. There will be happy hour prices at all Red Wings games and on Feb 5th for the super bowl starting at 5P.M. till the game is over.

  There will be a Fish Fry on Friday, February 3rd from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. This event is open to the public.
